Shou Sugi Ban Armchair No.2

Shou Sugi Ban Armchair No.2

The intuitive semicircular profile of the armrest invites to a stable seat. Its monolithic volume displays the natural fibers of Lebanese cedar wood, which has been pieced together from the remnants of a construction site in Turkey.

The traditional Japanese shou sugi ban technique produces the elegant dark finish, which contrasts organically with the lighter natural colour of cedar wood, exposed by some geometrical carvings.

Individually, the armchairs can be arranged at varying distances to allow different levels of intimacy. Combined together, the bench offers proximity and connects the sitters through the functional surface of the armrests.
